Inconclusion,thepresentstudyaddstothepreviousresearchregardingtheimportanceoflisteningconditions.Thefindingsofthecurrentstudyindicatethatmultipletimesoflisteningoffersabetterconditionoverasingletimeoflisteninginfacilitatingbothlisteningcomprehensionandincidentalvocabularyacquisition.ItcontributestoourunderstandingofhowtoimproveEFLlearners'listeningandvocabularyknowledgebyidentifyingthoselisteningconditionsthatareoptimal.
Besides,retrospectively,thefindingthatlisteningcomprehensionandincidentalvocabularyacquisitionarenotsignificantlyrelatedtoshortpre-listeningmetacognitivestrategytrainingraisestheissueofwhetherlearnerswillbenefitmoreiftheyusestrategiesthatarepersonallyapplicable.Itshowsthatstrategytrainingis「aswordwithdoubleedge」iflearnersarenotgivenenoughtimetoimplementthestrategytheyhavebeentaught.
